Challange Update & a Give-away

  • Marlene at KingsKid's Creations is working on this..
  • Pat at Bell Creek Quilts finished this one!
  • Lizzie at Lizzie's Place finished these! Lizzie actually started her new blog just so she could participate in the Summer Stash Challenge. If you go and read it, you will see post after post of flimsies she has made from her stash this summer.
  • And Helen at Dolz and thingz finished this cute little quilt..
  • Once again, if I missed you.. please let me know.

If you take a notice on the sidebar.. the participants who have finished at least one quilt have their names moved to the top. Look at all of us pitiful ones down below that are still working on ours.. moi included. I am positively going to get something DONE on mine this week! Only three more weeks of August to finish. So lets get our names moved up everyone!

Also.. we seem to have lost somebody. Tanaya from "Think Small".. if you are reading today.. we have been checking your blog for updates, but the blog you originally gave us for the challenge seems to be gone. If you are still making a quilt from your stash this summer.. please let us know and give us the current blog so we can follow your progress. Thanks!

AND... Cheryl over at Polkadots and Rick Rack is having a One year Anniversary Give-Away. The only reason I'm telling you about it is because I get two more tickets to put in the bucket.. and I really want those needles and pins!

Now off to see what I can get done this week! I will leave you with a picture of this sweet little Verbena. My daughter had given one of her co-workers a lovely hanging basket at the end of school in June, and a little flower had fallen off of it in the car. I picked it up and put it in a vase of water. To my surprise and delight, it sprouted roots. So I planted it! I am showing more about that on Vintage Thingies Thursday. :-)

Have a lovely day.

Hia Eileen, lovely verbena. Well done on keeping an eye on everyone. My aren't there loads of us who needed a little encouragement to use what we had. Well done

... soooo someone's bound to ask and it may as well be me. LOL Are you and Ulla planning a challenge by Christmas of any sort?

AAK.... I'm not doing so well on this :-( How big does the quilt have to be? I am working on a doll quilt that is made from stash-fabrics....does that count??

When the going gets tough the tough make a quilt. I made a scrappish quilt this weekend. The back I had to buy (I sent jamie to get it today from a small swatch I had) but other than that it was stash fabric. Its like a toddler size bed quilt or very small twin. It helped me clear my head. I'll post it later this week - well the flimsy - before I take it to the quilter. I'm going to have her do simple (and cheap) quilting.
