Anyway, I had a request from a lovely reader about the star blocks. So I thought I would share this with you all. The blocks are 9 inches. And here is a scan of the back of a block..

And I do have the pattern for this star. Note the seam allowances need to be added.
This is a jpg file. If it does not print out the right scale for you.. I also have it in a pdf file, but I can't figure out how to upload that into blogger. So if you would like that file, please let me know and I will email it to you. Make sure however if you just leave a comment for the pdf file.. that your email address is included. I will not try to find you if you are a non-reply commenter.
Now I need to get busy. I have been playing around all week!
Have a great weekend!

This looks hard. Reminds me of the dear jane blocks. They could be paper pieced but I doubt it. They used to do things the hard old fashioned way back then. No rotary cutters or anything. Its a darling block but looks super hard.
The star blocks are challenging but so satisfying when completed! I love looking at the treasures you find!
Eileen, lovely quilt but it certainly looks difficult to make..to me anyway. Dont bring me, I am an ex shopaholic..so i'll buy anything..even the stuff I dont need!!
Happy weekend, much love and big hugs to you :D
I think one of the great things in blogging is that you can show your treasures or progress or whatever, and friends from all over will come and say 'how wonderful' and they mean it. Not going to happen at home if the only ones you can show are male persons!
This is a difficult star but I think the accurately roller-cut pieces are easier to put together than the scissor-cut pieces the great-grandmothers were sewing.
Hi Eileen.
I would love to have the pdf file on this one..
Can not promise to make it right away because I am a bit busy at the moment!!
But one quilt is down today, I only have to make a label on the back to tell who made it and when. Just one more to go, I only have to buy some white quilting Thread.
Hia Eileen, I was thinking about how they got assembled too. Being a lazy tyke I was thinking of the machined version rather than by hand over papers.
Love your vinatge Thursday post too- I'm catching up. My Mum used to have a hand wound mincer which would g clamp to the table for making baby food. As for my Nan's house, well! I think most of her stuff was inherited. LOL
Finally heard from DD -she'd been away at Ocracoke Lighthouse area so have been on tenterhooks after her last email. All is good again and money arrived ok.
Nothing like a good challenging block...this definitely fits the bill. Reminds me of blocks my grandmother use to work on.
