Look at this cute green piece with Amish and Pennsylvania Dutch...

Here are some more.. lovely as can be.. and a few little hexagons..
Pretty pretty florals and dots. There are pieces here ranging from the 30's to the 60's.. and maybe one or two from our era as well..
I paid a visit to Tony this morning. Tony is my Sewing Machine Man. I have known him my whole life.. my mother took her things up to him to fix and clean. He does just about anything from vacuum cleaners to irons.. and is wonderful with all my sewing machines. I took my Singer 301 to him for some cleaning and oiling. Can't wait to get her back. I wanted to take some photos of his little shop that he runs.. it is next to his garage. But I kinda hated to ask. Maybe when I go to pick up my machine.

This chicken already lived here. I picked him up at the Good Will store a while back. He just called to me with his vintage mother-of-pearl button eyes and cotton stuffing peeking out from his tired worn head. I couldn't leave him behind. He is a pot holder of some type. And hand quilted with heavy red thread. ☺

In the meanwhile I'm making Betsy McCall a new dress to wear to Hitty Club this weekend.
I ordered the blue fabric with the little pink bunnies last year from a Japanese place. This is such sweet material. I like how the puffed sleeves are turning out. She will need new socks too.

And there is green sage in my herb bed. I think it lasted all through the winter. But there were some really fresh new little leaves..
And since this is not a cooking blog.. and I don't really like to cook.. I'll end with this adorable vintage pattern I came across the other day while looking for something else..
Darling or what? It is from 1956. I love the cats, owls and rabbits. And I'm quite sure the poodles were used for some little girl's skirts. Wouldn't it be a lot of fun to do something with this? ☺

Hope you are having a lovely day.

You did good on the charm swap... so much lovely fabric!
Looking forward to seeing Betsy McCall's new dress finished. I have sooo much fun making clothes for Barbie at the moment. Thank you very much for the patterns! But I must say, your doll's dresses puts mine to shame...
What a cute package of goodies...you are lucky to have such a nice swap partner. I love the little dress too. That chicken is like one I have that my mom made a long time ago, but she didn't quilt the tail for a potholder, is just sits on my fridge watching over us.
cute fabric.
It is always nice to swap because you can get such a nice ecclectic mix. The doll dress is coming out quite nicely. You definetly have a talent for making those.

That pattern is adorable. Hope you decide on something clever to make with it.
I am in love the with the PA Dutch/ Amish fabric. Being that hubby is PA Dutch, that fabric really is cool! Love it! I can't believe you have sage growing, unreal. I bet it made your chicken and dumplings simply yummy!
Such wonderful fabrics...I could look at them all day!
Oh my goodness, I have that same pattern! I think the monkey is my favorite. Love all the fabric goodies, and that hen - darling! Dinner looks mighty yummy too.
What a lovely post Eileen, lucky you to receive such beautiful fabrics with your swap partner. I seldom see pot holders here, dont know why and that chicken is super cute, looks fun too, what do you do with it exactly..under the pot, or hold the pot with it? Such silly question right haha! That chicken cooking looks just too yummy...I'd love to have a taste of it. bye for now/hugs - m
Your swap fabrics look great; isn't the Dutch theme something you especially like? The pot holder chicken looks funny, it must be good for longer handles like a frying pan.
Your doll's dress will look adorable on her.
Great fabrics from the swap...love Betsy McCall's dress but best of all, I love her slip!
I'm thinking those skumks are Black and White! and check out that winking Owl!

What a lovely swap. :-) I know you go bananas over the Dutch theme. I've been keeping my eye out for you when I go into charity shops but no joy.
Hmm sage and chicken -perfect. I am looking forward to raiding my herb corner this Summer.
Betsy's dress is going to be so sweet with it's Easter Bunny theme.
This post is a vintage fantasy. Love the fabric. Of course. I spied that little chicken right off in the 2nd picture. It is so cute! I've never seen anything like it. The food looks good. I like to cook but not cleanup. So you can't do one without the other so I guess I don't like to cook. The pattern is sweet.
The feed seeks are so pretty. The green one is really cute.
The chicken is sooo adorable. What a sweet find!
Love the contrast on the dolly dress. Can't wait to see her in it :)
The illustrations on the pattern are so cute!
The next time you do a vintage fabric charm swap I would love to swap. I have lots of feedsack charms ad alot of vintage fabric and I agree, it is fun to get new/old fabric. :) You got some great stuff in your swap. HAVE FUN WITH IT. Unless you are like me and can't use it I NEED TO SAVE MINE (ALL OF IT) I MIGHT NEED IT FOR SOMETHING IMPORTANT SOME DAY, so every time I make a quilt I end up buying new/old fabric because I can't use mine. LOL.
A great swap, I also like the Dutch green one! Betsy is going to be the pretiest doll! The dresses you sew for her are adorable!
