So if you would like to join us in using up things from your stash for a Summer Quilt, here is a logo you can put in your sidebar. Ulla and I thought this would be a fun and useful thing to do, and would love it if others would play along if you have time. We already have several who want to join, and I have started a blog role on my sidebar. Here are our Very Loose Set Of Rules:
- Leave a comment on this post to join, (so we can add you to the role)
- Make sure we have the link to your blog AND email address
- Put the logo somewhere in your sidebar with a link back to this post for the rules.
- No buying any new fabrics to make the top. If you need get a sheet for backing, or something for filling, that is ok.
- Any size quilt - can be knotted, tied or quilted in any manner.
- Deadline is August.. the beginning or the end, whichever you want. This is the end of summer for us in the northern hemisphere, but we also want to include all our blogging friends who live Down Under, so you could make this your "Winter Stash Challenge" just as well.
- Blog about your ideas, what you will be using, pictures of your progress etc. We are all looking forward to following along!
- Don't Fret About It.

The logo turned out fine! I almost didn't recognize my red fabric there. Now I try to add the logo to my sidebar. Thank you for doing this!
Fantastic idea Eileen. Thanks for adding me. It may take a while for luddite me to work out how to add the gorgeous logo.
This looks like fun! I would like to make a doll quilt because I have very little space to work on a quilt and lots of small remnants and scraps. Sign me up if it is okay!
Sounds like a good idea to me, too!
May I sew a scrappy quilt? I have some bright colours and that would be a chance to use them.
So funny Eileen, we've been talking about this and then I posted about scrap quilts today without knowing you had started a challenge!! Great minds think alike. I'm in but I may be too stupid to grab the button. I'll try. thanks!
can i join? i started a quilt on june 3rd that would work! does that disqualify me? i love scrappy quilts!
What a great challenge, and I definitely would love to join. Nothing better than a scrap quilt from you stash!!
Eileen, I think I got it ok! I am excited to be involved in your challenge. Lizzie Swinney
Oh I want to join! I just read about this over at Nanette's and I thought hmmm how did I miss that? And now I see I've missed at least one other, if not more posts :( You're in my bloglines so I don't know why it didn't tell me you've been posting away! I will be back later to catch up...gotta go fix dinner right now!
I first heard about this on Nanette's blog. What a great idea! I have a lot of stash to use up before my hubby will let me buy more, so this is definitely the challenge for me! Maybe I can even get my m-i-l and sisters to join in the stash busting fun!
hi, eileen...is it too late for me to sign up for your summer stash challenge? i'm a bit worried because i do not have a lot of stash, but i would love to participate and i'm sure i can come up with something! =)...thank you in advance - terri
I would love to do it if it's not too late. I really need to get rid of some of my stash!
This is perfect! Sign me up. I've got my quilt going already! I LOVE the quilt you're doing with the denim patches in the middle. That is right up my alley. In fact, my quilt is a very similar concept. I love the colors on yours. Great idea, Thanks!
Oh boy, this sounds like fun! Please add my name in!! Now to get busy!

i would love to join you in making a summer quilt. very busy. but how else is that stash going to get smaller.
This is just what I need. I have to make a wedding quilt for one of my boys and he has no favorite color so this will be perfect. I think I already have the pattern Iwill use in mind. This is totally why I started blogging! I really enjoy the quilting community and have thoroughly loved hearing everyone's comments and tips. Thank!
Oh I would love to join in !! I have a bunch of idea's floating around in my head LOL !
OH may I join too??
I have plenty of stash that is just begging to be used.
thanks julie
Please count me in! This sounds like a lot of fun, and a kick in the pants to use up some of the fabric I've had stashed away for years. Yippee!
Please count me in for this. I have already begun a little quilt this week that I am using stash to complete - front and back! Off to figure out how to capture that logo.
I definitely need to join in on this, if for no other reason than to publically declare that I need to use my huge stash rathen than going shopping!!
I'll go post on my blog now!
I would love to join you guys. sounds like fun.
Me too, me too! It would be so great to use uo some of my stash....
I would love to be part of this Challenge. The logo has already been posted on our sidebar...Winter here!! Ready to dig into the stash.
This is my first challenge. Count me in! --Nedra
just what I challenged myself for this summer. I just started a scrappy quilt trying to use up some of my stash. Count me in!
This is just what I had in the back of my mind to do anyway, so your project will add motivation to my plans. Thanks.

I know that I'm late jumping into this but I have been working from my stash for the past month & am planning on continuing to do so over the next few months. I'd love to join your group!

I just found out about your summer stash challenge from niki's blog. I would love to join the challenge if it is not too late!
Thanks so much,
Melissa
I love the idea of a summer stash challenge. I have quite a few fabrics waiting to be cut and sewn into some of my UFOs!
Is it too late to sign up? If not, count me in. I teach at a local community college and have about 5 1/2 weeks left before I go back to work. I'm trying to challenge myself to get the UFO list/stash reduced.
I'm a beginning blogger--having trouble getting all of my scanned photos into the blog--will fix that soon. I hope you don't mind that I listed this blog on my list of favorites--even if it is too late to officially join, I'm unoffically planning to reduce the stash.
I have been working on this (a bit) but would like to officially join in. it will go perfectly with my fabric diet in progress. what a great idea.
I have been reading your blog for awhile. I love your pictures they always turn out so nice, of course your quilts do too. Every summer, when I have no school, I make all the Christmas gifts for extended family. They are all scrap quilts. Last year I made 5. I have already started on one and am almost finished. So count me in on the challenge.
So we make it from start to finish? Any size??? I think this is doable. Count me in.
Nancy
I would love to join the summer stash challenge!
Thanks!
Amanda
OK so I added the graphic to my blog a couple weeks ago but forgot to leave a comment I guess LOL
Count me in!
I will give it a try. It's been a while since I made a quilt, but I've been so inspired by Amanda Jean's blog....such beautiful work! Count me in. I have a lot of scraps to use up.
What fun! Wish I had found you sooner, but no sweat I will go to the end of August! Our summer here goes much longer (does that count?), but school starts in two weeks and I will be back to the grind. Beautiful blog...thanks for sharing your love of quilting.

Since there isn't a size rule, I'm in. I've been thinking about how to use all the little scraps in my scrap basket (ok, there are two baskets). I don't think I'm up for a large quilt since I'm in the middle of hand quilting one already, but would love the opportunity to make some minis. What a great idea!

I'm not really a quilter, but I've been wanting to dive in and learn, so I think I will. I have lots of scaps! Looking forward to it!
I have come across the Summer Stash Challenge logo a couple of times while out blog hopping. Thought it was a good idea the first time I read about it, and I still do. So if it’s not too late, I would LOVE join you ladies in purging the piles! :)
Sounds like fun! I'm in!
I too would love to join the challenge and see what kind of quilt I could stitch up from my fabrics that have been tucked away far too long. Beth
What a great idea. I have been looking for something creative to do this summer and I have been pondering a bit about my giant stash in the basement. I am looking forward to using my mother's old vintage turquoise sewing machine. I have no idea what my little project will look like...but we will see won't we?
What a FUN thing to do..and gosh I have so many not so new fabrics...would love to join up! Thanks bunches!

Eileen,
I finished one!! The top was in my box to finish (made it earlier this summer) and the back is 9 yards from from stash. The title of my post on my blog is Grammy Dot's Quilt. I inadvertantly deleted your email telling me what to do when I finished a project so I thought I'd post here and see what happens. Email me privately please.
Thanks,
Nancy
I started working on my stash quilt tonight. Please add me to the list.

I just returned from summer holidays and would like to join, pleas add me to the list, fabric is already piled up :)
Christiane
I'm jumping in very late, here, but I couldn't pass up this challenge. I NEED to get rid of fabric I have around but haven't gotten to yet, so this is just the right inspiration for that! (besides it will make my hubby very happy to see my fabric stashes getting smaller!)
My email is: turtlesek@hotmail.com
Blog is: craftyturtle1.blogspot.com

I'd like to join in too, although I am really late...Thanks.
Boo hoo!! I wish I could join in the fun, but my entire stash is in boxes while we're remodeling. I am managing to quilt to small quilts that were done before I had to pack stuff up, but that's all the sewing I get to do for a while. Have fun without me!!
I'd like to join. I've just moved and I need this to make me finish working on my craft room. Anne
This is a great idea.
Count me in for this!
I'm coming into this very late, but fortunately I've already started a project that qualifies!
Hi, I was looking for quilting videos for a friend and stumbled onto your web site! Wow, what a great idea...count me in if I am not too late...
Hi Eileen, I saw your challenge just when I come back from my summer holidays at the end of July and I didn´t to join as I wanted to do a quilt with my french fabrics and ribbons , some laces and antique crochet I got in a fleamarket. It´s finished in this month of August .Here are the first steps I did at the beginning
