How Do You Like To Go Up In A Swing?

Yesterday my daughter came home with a little surprise for me. She is SO sweet, and knows just the kinds of things I find delightful. An old vintage toy is always a sure safe bet. She happened to stop at a huge yard sale, which I actually drove by myself on Friday but didn't stop because of the swarms of people, and I had ice cream in the car. But she did, and found the CUTEST little tin wind-up toy, complete with the key. We could not get it to go however. Boo-hoo. It seemed to have been wound up too tightly or something. But as we fiddled with it, we could get it to unwind and make the key go around if we made the girl swing with our hand.. back and forth. So I thought maybe a little shot of WD40 would help. And it did! You should see her go!
I keep playing with this.. it is SO cute. Oh.. I picked those wildflowers the other day. Love Daisies and Purple Clover.
Hope you are all enjoying the first weekend of summer. It is gorgeous here in Ohio.

Very nice swing with a doll. Your daughter must realy something...
If you are having nice summer weather I will come over to your place. Here has summer decided to put on hold, we are back to spring temperature and lots of rain. Thats why I have been sawing all day, and my quilt is growing bigger. I have finished 16 9 1/5" blocks today and I am pleased with the result.

Hia Eileen, love the toy! My children are fully briefed about skip diving. LOL Last time they came back with loads of good books. I love it that your daughter was able to get you something just right.

Here in the UK we are having some rare Summer storms. These days I wonder if I'd be better off with webbed feet and a snorkel. The wind has been up to 63mph and the rain heavy. Would you please be so kind as to send some gorgeous weather this way. We had total wash out last Summer so I'm starting to worry.

P.S. Got back to the Laurel Burch "Ocean Songs" quilt hand quilting and it's close to the binding stage! Tomorrow is 2nd coating the living room though.

What could be cuter than that!?!? How absolutely darling. And you got it to work. Wow. Ilove the action photos, you can actually imagine the motion and see it in the mind's eye.

Pretty flowers, too. Looks like they came straight from the florist. I am terrible at arranging flowers. They always just look like I plopped them in a vase. I can't believe you just picked them!

Your daughter is a treasure, isn't she? What a cute toy she found for you! And your flowers are beatiful!
The summer is not really what we were waiting for, but it may change, who knows!...I'm feeling better and I sewed some more blocks, now I'm thinking about the borders!
Enjoy your beautiful summer and flowers!

This toy made me smile. My daughter is 7 and would have just been delighted with this, too...

So much fun what you can find at a garage sale...

Thank you so much for you wonderful words in my comments.. I actually slept very soundly last night after writing that. Didn't think that I would. Was very surprised that I got as emotionally invested as I did. But, I do thank you... Kayce
