New&Improved, and a little MO ☺

I knew I had this around here someplace, but finally came across it the other day while looking for something else..
This little spring-like pressure foot is actually working for free-motion quilting on my old sewing machine that I had no idea if I would ever find an actual darning foot for. Does anyone know what year this would have been?

I am so new to this, and I'm not very good at all. But it's fun.. and growing on me. I am amazed at how fast it's going. Maybe will get this baby quilt done up today yet.
That is if I can keep my hands off this...
Eeeee! It came in the mail today, and I keep peeking inside.. wow! Material Obsession Two by Kathy and Sarah . I hope you all get a chance to own this one. Wish I could make all the quilts in it.. or even one.
Also been thoroughly enjoying my new Ipod Touch. Found this app where they play the top 100 hits of any decade. I am totally stuck in 1969. Doesn't even seem like any time ago. I guess you can actually listen on your computer too, and you don't even have to pay the $1.99 like I did.. unless you want it on your Ipod. It's right here. Anyone else remember these songs? Seems like they were such a real part of my life. I can sing almost every word and hum every rift. I was only 11. Go pick a decade!
ANYways.. I'm sure most of you have nice plans for the weekend.. fireworks and all. Hopefully it's going to be quiet here. And I think I'm gonna like it.

I used my new machine's spring loaded darning/free motion foot for the star quilt, and I think I started to learn the basics. Great find in your own home!
Happy 4th of July! It was my father's birhtday and my "name day" so I baked a cake for today.

I bet when they first came out with that attachment they had no clue that decades later it would be used for free motion quilting! Good luck with it; your elephant quilt looks great.
Went to the music site. What fun! The 1st song that came up was "A boy named Sue" by Johnny Cash. Loved that song as a kid. Thanks for the link.

Hia Eileen, I'm guessing early 1950s based on the picture, but it is a total guess. If there is a paent number you can often look them up.

Good luck with the quilt.

The artwork on the packaging looks so 40-ish to me. What an interesting foot! Glad it's working on your machine. It's probably built to last.

I have to get that book. I have such a weakness for eye candy like that.

Good you found your friend again and now you can maschine quilt all night..
I am sure your quilting is just fine, but I know how hard to learn this skill.
Your book looks very interesting and I am very tempted to buy one of them... Hmm I have to think hard! My computer came back today and I am so happy ;-))

To me the art and fonts on the package look closer to 30's than 40's or 50's. What a great find, though! Aren't you happy you found it? Have fun quilting!

Your machine quilting is so impressive! I would never know it is your first. I'm glad you found your foot that fits the machine. I want that book too. I have the first one. Though I haven't made any of them it is like my japanese books - so inspiring. I'm sure I could probably sing all the words to 1969 too. I was 12! All my sisters were older and the radio played at our house constantly.
