And here.. yesterday I noticed my other Christmas cactus is blooming. Just in time.. for President's Day! I know the flower is fuzzy.. but for some reason my camera only wanted to focus on the pot and the leaves. I need a new camera with a lens!
Ok.. If I'm going to get done I need to get busy.. and oh.. I guess Hitty club is Friday.. last minute thing.. but I can't wait to go! Lots to do..
I'm thinking of you all...

Wow, you certainly cut into your stack. Good quality or not, I love what you are doing. Scrappy quilts are the best. The more fabrics the more interest. At least in my humble opinion. I guess Christmas cactus really don't know when it is time to bloom. I had a beautiful one that bloomed whenever it felt like it. It always brought some brightness to our home, until we neglected it.
That is a great and generous way to use the fabric. Whoever receives the quilt is not going to care. They will be happy that someone took the time to make them a quilt.
I agree with Carrie...great use of your fabrics. Someone is going to love the quilt. Thanks for the double 4-patch link.
You have such nice looking stash! The non-quilter recipient will not know the difference between your thrift store finds and high quality quilting fabric.
My Christmas cactus usually blooms at easter, too.
what a great way to use those fabrics!!!
and it looks SUPER cute already.
:D
wow - what an awesome quilt to make for someone in need...thank you for the double 4-patch link, too!
I like it a lot! Such a nice gesture!
It looks great-I like the darker little 4-patches on the bed of flowers-looks like stepping stones through a garden! I just put a quilt in the frame for basting that has a similiar effect.
This is a great and generous
'stash' buster....and I like
the layout you have there...
looks pretty good...I'll be
glad to get back to cutting
and sewing again..just lots
of hand work lately (if ya
know what I mean)....I wish I
had one of those Christmas
cactus...I think they are pretty
neat.....later!
Allthose little 9 patches are coming out lovely. I love the cactus too. (of course cactus needle would).
Anyone would be thrilled to get a quilt from you, I love your fabric!
You have some great fabrics Eileen! And I have a bloom each on two of my Christmas cactuses right now! Silly things! :0)
Looks like a pretty nice stash to me. What a great way to use it! Nice Christmas cactus.
What a great scrap quilt Eileen! You have a nice stash! It is a beautiful gesture and the recipient will love this quilt for sure!
Eileen once you take all those fabrics and put them in a quilt they will work out nicely just like your picture shows.
God I wish I had time during the day to work on projects.
One day....
Good quality or not, nothing beats a warm hug.
I like that layout, I've seen the cover of that book...
Lovely stash fabrics. The quilt is going to look beautiful.
I have a white Christmas cacti (from a charity stall) but I like the deep pink ones best. :-)
What a great stack of fabric...so yummy!! A good way to use it up...love the design also.
However do you do it! You and your quilts amaze me! What do you do with your finished quilts?
I love the stash, I noticed that I have a few of those fabrics as well! I have not been to my sewing area in what seems like forever!
Martha
The pattern on your design wall is so beautiful. What a lovely way to use your scraps.
The flower is so pretty :)
Great use of your fabrics...I seriously need to go through my stash and decide which fabrics I'll never use...and make some charity quilts!
Great and generous way to use those fabrics. I love the pattern easy and maximal result!
Your blocks are great!!!! I love the layout. And, I think your stash is wonderful. When we give to others, what matters is a heart of love....and that is what they will appreciate.
I hear you about February!! This is my first time through my bloglines in forever! I really like your ironing board cover, did you make it? Good job using up fabrics for quilts to give-away, I like that layout, very different :)
Well done Eileen , I am impressed.
