Grocery Shopping Yesterday..

Ahhh.. but first a little stop at the Good Will thrift store at the other end of town..

With the 40% off coupon.. my bag of goodies came to $7.19.. which I don't feel too bad about spending in these tough times.

Two sweaters (I do like Tommy Hilfiger) and some beads.. a Little Golden Book "Lassie".. which I already had in my collection but this one is in wonderful condition.. much better than the one I had..
..and a little white pitcher. And oh. I very pretty piece of green vintage solid cotton.. nice and crisp. It doesn't take a whole lot to brighten the day.

There are a lot of places cropping up where you can help with the bush fires in Australia. I've been reading Pip's blog over at Meet Me At Mike's.. she gives a lot of information there.

I'm off to work on my Tea Swap the rest of the day.. it is springlike weather here in Ohio.. yippee!

Some great finds. Love the Lassie book. Brings back memories of watching the old black and white shows.

Oh, I remember watching Lassie on telly every day before school when I was younger. I didn't know there were Lassie books too... Great finds. You just have to love thrift stores!

Just goes to show you how great it is to "recycle" and use what someone else can't. It helps the pocketbook and everything else! Gonna go read at Mike's.

Great finds! Wish we had fabric in our local GW.

I love Golden Books, too. As a child in the 50's, they were the most popular books around. Wish that I had mine, now. (My kids had them, too.) Lassie in good condition was really a very good find!

Eileen, that's super cheap and what a great find. Yes, this fire in Australia is tragic, lets hope everything gets settled down soon.

Great finds, the little pitcher makes me want to use milk in my tea! I remember reading Lassie in a big book without illustration when I was a child, and watching a Lassie movie on TV with my best friend.

That Lassie book is lovely! so are the sweaters. It feels so much better to go to the thriftstore than the supermarket.

Oh how I love a good thrift store day! And all of that for under $8?! Right on. By the way, please do come over with your big book of fabrics. Ohio isn't THAT far is it? I would love to sit and visit with tea while we look up all of the old fabrics in my g-g-grandma's quilt. Then you can also hand quilt it for me...hehe x

There is everything right with being thrifty! I love your finds. But Eileen I just love the table cloth that they are resting on. Was that one of your finds too, or have I just been blind and not seen it before?
