Here are the rules for the Christmas award. You must be a true Christmas lover to receive this award. The person to whom you give the award must also be in love with Christmas. You must link back to the person who gave you the award. You must list 5 things that you love about Christmas. If you can't limit it to 5 things, then keep going till you run out of space! Pass the award along to as many people as you like. That can be 1 or 45; it's up to you. But, you must pass it on to at least one person in order to keep the Christmas cheer going! Let your recipients know that you have tagged them by leaving them a comment.
5 things I love about Christmas:
1. That it is the time of year when you hear songs of Christ's birth just about everywhere you go.
2. Thinking about the people I'm buying or making gifts for.
3. Plugging in the Christmas tree when I get up in the morning.
4. Watching the little children's Christmas Play on Sunday afternoon.
5. Having all my big children come home for a few days.. eating, shopping, laughing, watching movies, playing games, drinking fine coffee, and hanging out.
I'm going to award this to T at Purple&Paisley. She has the most darling grandbabies, pictures of them with Santa, and her house is decorated wonderfully for the Christmas season. I know she is creating a lot of memories.

Christmas memories are the best!
I love the skate box too. That must bring back memories!
Lovely nativity scene. This year ours is onthe little dresser with Jesus on the top shelf with the angels. The angels have been growing each year as the children add to them. :-)
you are the sweetest...thank you so much! i love your nativity set...and i think all the mismatching makes it all that more special...☺
How wonderful that your Mom put your name on the box and that you have such a lovely old nativity scene-- and such lovely memories that were so sweetly saved and passed down from childhood. Very, very special!
Thank you for sharing your sweet childhood memories :o) The nativity set is so beautiful!
your nativity set is beautiful - looks very like ours. It is pulling out and setting up the same lovely Christmas memories each year that make it special. Last night, Abigail and I finally decorated the house for Christmas - we are living with my mum (who is currently in Canada) at the moment and so most of our decorations are in storage. At first we couldn't find nan's decorations and so had only 16 things for the tree - Abby counted - but then, finally I found nan's box and the one I had brought with us - and Christmas came together in a beautiful 3 hour busyness of setting up and singing. When Abigail was hanging the decorations on the tree and gustily singing Silent Night, the tears just whelmed up and not a word came out. It was magic.
How special are memories. Even if you did not have the nativity set any more you still have the memories.
But having the set makes them all the more special. How cool that you were in charge of it. Thanks for sharing.
The skate box for your nativity set is classic - my Mom would have done the same! Love your photos of the trees - I will go check out the site - this month my 5 year old son taught me how to get night ziggy light effects - I posted a photo on my blog - guess I will take all the advice I can get because I love nice photos!
Cheers!
Evelyn

Thank you for sharing your memories. The nativity set is very lovely and so special with the story behind it!
Isn't it special to have something from your childhood that means so much.
It's the memories that make an item special and your nativity set is irreplaceable. I bet you think of your childhood and you mum every time you see it...
