"Vintage" Christmas Ideas

I got everything sorted through from my rummage sale bags from last week. This stack of Double Wedding Ring pieces looks like so much fun. I have to lay them out and make templates for the corner pieces and the centers. But that is a project for another day. Also in the bottom of my shopping bag was a little baggie containing these rubber heads.. I thought they were so colorful and cute. Does anyone know a good thing to make with them? maybe little pin cushions.. ?

And then I remembered some things that were stored in a briefcase under the bed.. I had put them there last spring so I wouldn't forget to take them out around Christmastime and get some gift ideas... and I didn't! There are seven Christmas issues. This is going to be more fun than I should be having.. even just thinking about it..

With the gorgeous project with pinwheels and flying geese I can't wait to see you finish the Double Wedding ring. How fun to see the "in" Christmas projects of YEARS ago. Wouldn't it be awesome to buy a craft/quilting magazine for only $1 now?

I know I've seen projects using those little heads. I'm thinking you could make them into little angels or carollers or something. They're really cute!

LOL I do love sharing your guilty pleasures Eileen. :-) I think i've seen heads like that on lids of dress shaped boxes/stiff bags. They say that retro is in so I wonder what iltra trendy things the mags have in store for you.

Great blocks and fabrics. But I have to say, my first thought was... OMG look at all those little heads!! A little freaky. I am not sure about pincushions, it would almost be like a little voodoo doll?

I always thought the double wedding ring is a lovely but difficult pattern. I can hardly wait what you can create with those pieces.

The heads are so cute! I also like the Dbl. Wedding ring pieces. Were there any more pieces, or the pattern? I had a similiar find about a month ago. I was so excited as I never find good stuff like this! There were many pieces in different stages of construction. Here is a link (if it works) if you want to see them.

You are just as lucky as Terri at winning the jackpot - just different types. The doll heads are cute - and they are not all the same! I love that. You'll tink of something to do with them. I was thinking ornaments when I first saw them. But I do have Christmas on the brain today. The vintage wedding ring blocks are amazing. You will do something very special with them, I know. And those magazines. I've got to find my stash of vintage quilting patterns. Somewhere!

Not tink - think. Since I've lost my head like those dolls - I could be a pincushion right now!

Great magazines, lucky you! Your vintage for Christmas is adorable! I've started some sewings too hoping I'll get most of them done until then!

Too cute! How about using the wedding ring pieces as a pin cushion and put the heads on top? That would be adorable!!
