Everything went smooth, and in our family, we tend to have a very good time when brought together. Remembering all of the wonderful things about our dear relative, and laughing until our faces hurt.
On our drive there, I was hoping to take a picture of something Amish, and usually we pass several horse drawn buggies. But yesterday we didn't see a one. I did stop the car once though. We drove by the Smuckers headquarters in Orville Ohio, where they make their famous jellies and jams. "With a name like Smucker's, it has to be good" is their slogan. I thought you might like to see its pretty red roof.
Later on this afternoon I hope to join in with Little Pink Studio's "Show and Tell Sunday". Analise at Sugar*Sugar is hostess today showing vintage handkerchiefs. If I get time I would like to show mine and what I do with them, but I didn't submit my name for her blogroll, just in case things were too crazy this weekend.
Plus I see so many new posts as I scroll down my blog reader. I just have to get back here. Fun!
So maybe I'll see you all a little later on.

Hi:)
The Smuckers building sort of looks like a cartoon or fairy tale place. It's so green there!
You mentioned your "blog reader". OK, so I'm new enough to not get what that is - can you tell me?
I'm still new enough not to get a lot of things too!.. Like I don't know if my email address shows up for folks to reply to in a comment. Guess I'll find out because I'm commenting on my own blog. hah!
I save the blogs I read by subscribing to their feeds, and keeping them at "My Yahoo" page. That way I can see if someone has new content. It took me a while to figure it out, but I did. If I had your email address, I could 'splain better. :)So hopefully you can email me with it.
What a colorful building! It must look great in the snow. Very whimsical and unexpected. Thanks for sharing that photo!
What beautiful pictures. I love Amish country. I grew up in Berks County Pennsylvania right next to Lancaster County and I miss so much the green rolling hills and the open space of the Amish Farms. I really really miss the Farmer's markets though! Sometimes on a Saturday my husband and I will go grocery shopping together and we'll get in the car and I'll say to him "Um today let's go to Reading Fairgrounds Market to shop". And he'll smaile and we'll both wish we could. I like living in the west but I'll always be an eastern city girl at heart and I do miss there and think of it as home. Your pictures make me homesick! Ohio is a lot like PA, of course.
Love your quilt (from M Kate's blog pic link). I'm in the process of making a quilt at the moment using applique and patchwork.
I love your photos of your area. Isn't it interesting to see other parts of the world?
hi eileen, love the RED ROOF, have seen Amish people but only in pictures/movies, would love to meet them...one day, now that would be really interesting :)
Love seeing the Smucker homestead!
